Real Madrid Club de Futbol

Madrid for kids

According to FIFA Real Madrid is the most successful football team in the 20th century.  Founded in 1902 it has more than 90000 members.  Its home ground is the Santiago Bernabeu.  get off at the Santiago Bernabeu Metro (line 10 blue) This stadium was the location for the 1982 FIFA World Cup.  This was the first World Cup in which teams from all 6 continental confederations participated. OMG! Antonio Cabrini of Italy was the first player to miss a penalty in a World Cup final match in this stadium (the shame!).  But to offset that, Paolo Rossi scores 6 goals overall.   And this was the first world cup where the anthems were played by recordings and not live bands.
